What is an ADU?
Acessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)
A small residence that shares a single-family lot with a larger, primary dwelling with independent living, that is self-contained, with its own kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area.
Community Compatible
ADUs offer a way to include smaller, affordable homes in established neighborhoods.
Housing For All
ADU’s can adapt for different household types, income levels, employment situations and stages of life.
Just the right size
ADUs generally measure 600 to 1,000 sf and work well for one and two-bedroom homes.
Economical Housing
ADUs can generate rental income.
Good for the environment
ADUs require fewer resources to build and maintain, in turn using significantly less energy for heating and cooling.

About the Design
ADU at The Riverfront is based off of APMA’s first-place winning design in AARP and the City of Omaha’s ADU for U competition. For more information on the design, visit APMA’s An ADU for U site.
The Floor Plan
The designed drop zone provides an accessible place to sit to put on or remove shoes as well as easy access to jackets.
Deep drawers and pull-out shelving help increase accessibility and reduce risk of injury due to reaching or bending, also creating more functional storage space.
Built-in cabinet storage and wardrobe style closets help reduce the amount of furniture to be moved, allows to keep clothes and items within reasonable reach and decreases cost by reducing the amount of necessary furniture.
